Le Meridien Kochi honored 650 Cochin based fishermen for their exemplary lifesaving efforts during the recent Kerala floods. Le Meridien Kochi, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in September, postponed the celebrations in order to honour the fishermen. AC Moideen , Minister for Local Administration inaugurated the function. The event was presided by Dr P Mohamed Ali, Chairman, MFAR Group and Mr Abdul Basheer, Group Director, MFAR. The other attendees included Prof KV Thomas (MP) and MLAs S Sharma, Hibi Eden, M Swaraj, Anwar Sadath, KJ Maxi and John Fernandes. Mr Mohammad Hanish, chief of KMRL; Mr KL Arun, Coast Guard Commandant; Mr Vijay Sakhare, Ernakulam Range IG and Ms Sunila Siby, Chairperson of the Municipality of Maradu were also present on the occasion.
